My law practice is a business. It is how I feed my dog and pay my mortgage. I know that what I do is also personal for my clients. One of the ways I acknowledge the personal side is to send my clients birthday cards that I have custom designed to add some joy to their special day. A client recently sent me the following, which is shared with her permission.
Dear Deb,
I just received a beautiful birthday card from you and I am very touched. It was really kind and thoughtful of you.
I miss my mother so much and it will be the first birthday without her and birthdays were big in our family and getting a card from you, in view of the fact that you are taking care of her estate, is really special.
